Sex Offenders...In Spaaaace!

Today's Z-Lister is Starfox, not to be confused with the video game series featuring talking animal mercenaries (Fox McCloud vs Rocket Raccoon, 2015). Anyway, Starfox is one of the lesser known Avengers with a superpower that wins him women and lands him in court.

He first appeared in "Iron Man #55" in 1973. A human-like alien who grew up on Saturn's moon, Titan, Eros was a laid back adventurer with a womanizing habit. He grew up with his power-hungry brother Thanos, who he rebelled against after Thanos killed their mother. Thanos tried to hold Eros captive, but help from the Avengers allowed Eros to escape and join the Avengers in the fight against evil. Given the name Starfox by the Avenger Wasp, Eros helped his allies defeat villains like The Wizard, Terminus, Nebula and Supernova. Thanks to Starfox's unique control over the pleasure centers of the brain, he also helped the Avengers defeat Inhuman scientist Maelstrom. Despite all these achievements, Starfox is notorious in the Marvel Universe for a specific reason. Starfox's signature superpower is the manipulation of love and pleasure within the minds of others. When Eros and Thanos were children, Thanos accidentally kill a small animal. To help him cope with his mistake, Eros used his powers to influence Thanos into becoming infatuated with idea of Death. It's also with Eros' power that he influenced multiple happily married women into engaging in sexual activities with him. For these actions, Eros was brought to court with fellow Avenger and defense attorney Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk defending him. During these court trails, Jennifer suspected Eros to be sexually manipulating her, as well as the jury. Eros tried to escape the court, but Jennifer "hulked out" and knocked Eros out, ducked taped his mouth to prevent his seductive powers and placed him back in court. The case was brought to Titan by Eros' father and it was revealed to She-Hulk that while she wasn't seduced by Eros, her marriage to astronaut John Jameson was a result of Eros' control over infatuation. She-Hulk was of course enraged by Eros' tampering with her life. As mentioned, Eros powers sparked Thanos' obsession of Death and murder and while Eros wasn't held guilty for sexual harassment, he was held accountable for Thanos' uncountable murders throughout the galaxy. After these events, Eros requested the psychic hero Moondragon to mentally disable his pleasure controlling abilities. To this day, Eros and Thanos meet every 1000 years on Titan to exchange gifts at the request of their father.
While his allegations of sexual harassment are a bold detail, I find his relationship with Thanos to be the real interest of the character. Thanos is unarguably the greatest enemy of the Avengers, so to have a member of the Avengers who grew up alongside this villain opens up a more personal view of Thanos. I don't know where he is or what he's doing, but Eros is hopefully still being used for better purposes than intergalactic court trials. All that being said, any character capable of controlling pheromones could be classified as sex offender.
I'm serious, guys, Fox McCloud versus Rocket Raccoon. Let's make it happen.
