The REAL New Teen Titans

Let's all imagine the original "Teen Titans" animated series was like a video game, where there multiple endings. Somebody scored under 50% points and got the bad ending: "Teen Titans Go!". But what if somebody got the good ending and the world got the Teen Titans cartoon that was meant to follow the show we had before? It's not "Young Justice", its a cartoon pitch for my ideal sequel show to Teen Titans, "The New Teen Titans".
If I had control of the universe-or more specifically DC Comic's TV department-I'd want the next Teen Titans cartoon to be next generation of the previous show, not a bastardization of it. Same anime art style, same mix of action, story and comedy, same tangible characters with off-the-wall villains. The story would revolve around the old Teen Titans show ten years in the future. Raven has become Earth's protector against paranormal threats, Cyborg is a member of "The League", Robin has now become Nightwing and is acting solo, Starfire is part of a team of space heroes and Beast Boy has been preparing to tutor a new group of teenaged heroes. All of the old Titans are on good terms, even Nightwing and Starfire who's relationship has become "complicated". Beast Boy got the old Titans together to welcome the new Teen Titans: Lagoon Boy from Atlantis, Solstice from India, Bunker from New Mexico, Skitter from New York, and the new Robin from Gotham City. Since Beast Boy has experience with both The Teen Titans and The Doom Patrol, he believes he is qualified to instruct this team. The running joke being characters asking why now twenty-four year old hero is still calling himself "Beast Boy".
Going over the team now. Lagoon Boy used to be Aqualad's assistant Tramm, but because of his specific Atlantean biology he was a toddler back then and a teenager now. He would fill the position of the "outsider" not familiar with human society, much like Starfire. Lagoon Boy has enhanced strength and speed, underwater superiority, and the ability to puff up into a hulking monster. Skitter was a teenager experimented on by mad scientists. Her powers caused her to become feared by her peers, so she often shy around people. She can stick to walls, produce webbing and grow extra limbs, but overuse of her powers can drive her wild. She fills the spot of Cyborg with her resentment of her appearance. Bunker is a teenager who got his powers from a crashed alien artifact, these powers allow him to create constructs out of light. Bunker takes example from Beast Boy by being the upbeat comedian of the team, but the feature that makes him stick out is his homosexuality, which-because this is a kids show-would be subtle, but clear. When Solstice was born, she was magically connected with the sun and the moon and this connection gave her powers when she became a teenager. During the day she draws from the sun to blasts rays of warm light, but at night she draws from the moon to blast rays of cold light. During the day she has her bright appearance, at night she becomes covered in a black glow, but in both forms she can become pure light to pass through objects and fly. Her mystical theming puts her on par with Raven. Finally, the new Robin who's secret identity is Tim Drake. While he isn't a great leader like the first Robin, this new Robin is far smarter than most of his teammates in both science, technology and investigation. He shares a serious habit with the old Robin, but is less critical about failure. He leads the team when on missions, he carries bird-a-rangs, special discs, an extendable staff, grappling hooks and a flight apparatus for his cape. He isn't a great fighter, but is able to use his mind and surroundings to his advantage. What viewers would later learn is that between Nightwing and the new Robin, there was a second Robin who died during a mission with their mentor. Around season three this dead Robin would return from the grave as the new Red X. An additional Titan would be Rose, The Daughter of Slade. The first season would feature her as an occasional villain seeking revenge on the old and new Titans for letting her father die. Season two would feature her in an uneasy alliance with the Titans for a two-part episode, and season three would have her join the team as a redemption seeking hero, kind of like their version of Terra.
Similar to the old show, this show would offer diverse stories and villains like the data-collecting madman known as The Collector, the reality bending paragon Prometheus, and the newly-vampiric Brother Blood. Stories with undertones of family, maturity, modesty, sexuality, drugs, violence, and acceptance would only be a few examples of the show's range. The show would use the same setting as the previous show, including the remodeled Titans Tower. Lasting three to five seasons, the show would be allowed to feature other DC Comics heroes and villains, it would also be fitting to viewers young and old, just as DC cartoons used to be. Those are just my basic ideas of what a GOOD sequel to the Teen Titans cartoons would be, and if you like this cartoon pitch maybe I'll do more in the future for shows like "Young Justice" and "The Spectacular Spider-Man". Thanks for reading!
