Are you a fan of Reed Richards? Well, we got One Dozen Mr. Fantastic Facts!
1. Reed Richards has been credited as a the smartest human in the Marvel Universe.
2. Richards and Susan Storm have two children: Franklin and Valeria. Franklin is classified as an Omega-Level Mutant and has the ability to alter reality. During "The Onslaught Saga" Franklin reconstructed the Marvel Universe during an era called "Heroes Reborn". Valeria was born during a time when Susan was being kidnapped by Doctor Doom and when Doctor Doom delivered the baby he named her after his first love.
3. Richards has identified that he is on the autistic spectrum.
4. Similar to Bruce Banner, Peter Parker, and Scott Summers, Mr. Fantastic was given his name by Stan Lee to be alliterative and easy to remember.
5. Reed Richards is a founder of The Fantastic Four, The Future Foundation, and The Illuminati. During his time traveling the multiverse Reed has met a group of Reeds from other universes. This group is called The Council of Reeds.
6. In the universe of Marvel Zombies, Reed's children were eaten by a zombified She-Hulk. Suffering a mental breakdown, he deliberately infects his teammates with the zombie virus to study them and keep them safe as he believed the only way to survive the virus would be to be infected by it.
7. In the Ultimate Universe, Reed becomes a supervillain after "Ultimatum" and calls himself The Maker. After the events of "Secret Wars" in 2015 it is revealed this version of Reed survived multiversal destruction and remains in the main Marvel Universe.
8. During "Civil War" Reed Richards joined Iron Man's Pro-Registration Team, and Susan Storm joined Captain America's Anti-Registration Team. Meanwhile, The Thing was vacationing in Europe and Johnny was in the hospital.
9. When 20th Century Fox began production on their (ironically) fourth attempt of a Fantastic Four film, Marvel Comics began slowly pushing the team into the ground. First, four unnamed actors set to play the Fantastic Four were destroyed during a hero/villain battle, then the Fantastic Four's powers began to slowly kill them. Then during "Secret Wars" Doctor Doom takes control the universe, makes Franklin, Valeria, and Susan his own family, and hides Reed, Ben, and Johnny. In the climax of the story it is not Reed-but Black Panther-who battles Doctor Doom with the Infinity Gauntlet. Currently, Reed, Susan, and their children are out in the cosmos recreating dead realities.
10. Tony Stark once joked that Reed could inflate his brain using his elasticity powers and give himself more brain capacity. Later in the same issue Reed's head is seen larger when calculating Tony's heart reactor output. He also once matched The Thing's shape and strength using his powers.
11. Reed Richards created the uniforms of The Fantastic Four using Unstable Molecules. While they sound highly dangerous they are actually materials that alter to the wearer's need such as shapeshifting, heat resistance, and invisibility. Reed has also used this machine to provide the various members of The X-Men with costumes suiting their needs.
12. Reed Richard and The Fantastic Four once met one of their creator's Jack Kirby. In the Marvel Universe, Jack exists in a single room where he writes stories involving Marvel characters and these stories become true. As such, The Fantastic Four learn they are beings of fiction unable to have their own independent fates. However, they have faith in Jack and continue to live as they did.
