As much as I dislike the idea of a gritty and serious DC Cinematic Universe being created, I must admit it's about time DC/Warner Bros step up their game and deliver a movie universe of their own. But just because they're doing it their way, doesn't mean a loyal DC Comics fan can't pitch his own ideas, right? The time has come loyal readers, The Panel Biter's greatest Pitch-It series is on it's way. Welcome to the prologue of the PBDC, aka The Panel Biter's DC Universe.
This post will act as an introduction to how this series of Pitch-It's will work. First of all, for those of you who don't usually follow these Pitch-It segments, these posts are primarily examples of how I-you're gracious host-would create a story, in this case I'll be creating a long series of connecting stories to be used in a shared movie universe. Currently DC's most well-developed media outlet is their TV department, mainly CW's "Arrow" and "The Flash". My desired DCCU would spin-off from this already developed universe. Essentially before my desired movie universe would begin, all of DC's current shows would end with a "crisis event" that would lead into a new cinematic universe being created from old elements and new ideas. The cast of shows like Arrow and The Flash would stay the same, only their world would expand to welcome other DC characters. Shows like "Gotham" will be replaced with similar shows like "GCPD" a show focusing on modern day Gotham and it's police department. Titans and Constantine (renamed Hellblazer) would surface, along with new shows like "Legion Lost". HBO shows including The Suicide Squad, Grayson, Vixen, Justice League Dark, REBELS, Birds of Prey, and Static Shock would also tie into this universe.
Similar to the MCU, this movie universe will be divided into phases which I will present to you now.
Phase One:
Superman, The Caped Crusader, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Justice League.
Phase Two:
Wonder Woman II, Superman: Invasion, The Martian Manhunter, The Dynamic Duo, Aquaman: Throne of Atlantis, Green Lantern: Reign of The Zamarons, Justice League: Breached Earth.
Phase Three:
The Metal Men, The Dark Detectives, Wonder Woman III, Aquaman: The 8th Sea, Green Lantern: The Spectrum War, Superman: Doom, Justice League: Godfall.
Phase Four:
Shazam, Lex Luthor, Deadliest Shadow, Robin, Booster Gold, Adam Strange, Hawkgirl, Justice League: Tower of Babel.
Phase Five:
The Knight in Wonderland, Shazam 2, Catwoman, Doom Patrol, Supergirl, Booster Gold: World's Finest, Justice League: Checkmate.
Phase Six:
Shazam 3, Booster Gold Beyond, Blue Beetle, Court of Owls, Supergirl: Children of Krypton, The Inferior Five, Justice League: Spacebound.
Phase Seven:
The New Gods, Supergirl: Power Couple, Captain Atom, Death of The Family, Harley's Holiday, Superboy, Justice League: Crisis Part 1, Justice League: Crisis Part 2.
Shows:
Green Arrow, The Flash, Vixen, Hellblazer, GCPD, Titans, Legion Lost, Firestorm, The Atom, Hawkman.
