Oh, The Inhumanity!

Since Marvel Studios does not own the film rights to The X-Men, both the studio and the publisher have been pushing The Inhumans, a group of characters similar to The X-Men that they can profit from. The pasting over The X-Men with Inhumans has been apparent and has angered many fans-myself included-but I cannot dismiss The Inhumans as characters. So, that's why I created this list, this is The Panel Biter's Top 5 Inhumans.

5. Quake
Created in 2004 and written as a test subject for her super-villain father Mr. Hyde, Daisy Johnson underwent a recent change in history due to Marvel's TV show, Agents of Shield. See, on AoS a character named Skye turned out actually by the film version of Daisy Johnson-complete with a villain dad-and after being hit with The Terrigen Mist (the substance that activates an Inhumans powers) got her ability to control vibrations. Since Quake became an Inhuman on the show, her comic counterpart was revealed to be an Inhuman who's powers were jumpstarted by Hyde's experiments. Quake is cool because since her first appearance she's been a secret weapon of Shield, unnoticed by most agents, classified as an elite agent, and even tasked with leading Shield's superhero spy team, The Secret Warriors. And her seismic powers make her a heavy hitter in the MCU. Plus, well, Chloe Bennett is just wonderful.

4. Lockjaw
But so is this dog! So cute! Lockjaw is the loyal lapdog of The Inhumans Royal Family, along with being the size of a tractor, he can teleport unspecified distances too. He has also been a member of the short lived "Pet Avengers". What's funny is that The Inhumans are pretty much "not human" and Lockjaw is an Inhuman dog, making him even more "not human" if possible. Lockjaw was also an entree in The Panel Biter's Top 5 Pets in Comic Books. So this large dog is all kinds of awesome and I can't wait to see this guy make the films.

3. Ms Marvel
There's a reason people love this character, so much so that her first volume got an audiobook and the character will appear on Marvel's "Avengers Assemble" cartoon. Created by G. Willow Wilson, Kamala Khan is a Muslim, a Pakistani, a teenager, a Jersey citizen, and a huge superhero fan. She even admins on superhero servers. After she got her Inhuman powers of shapeshifting, she imminently decided to become a hero and-since the name was free-become Ms. Marvel, following the example of her favorite hero, Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. Now Marvel's poster girl, Kamala is featured in cartoons, the newest Avengers team, and high recommendations. And for good reason.

2. Black Bolt
King of The Inhumans, Black Bolt stands beside his wife Medusa and watches over his people. Watches, because he can't speak. No, he's not mute, Black Bolt's Inhuman power is the ability to launch sonic blasts with a mere whisper. If Black Bolt talks, everyone dies. Planets, hoards, structures and more are the victims of this King's vocals. Black Canary, eat your heart out. Along with being the King, Black Bolt has been the Inhuman representative for Marvel's Illuminati. Also, seeing as how Vin Diesel only used his voice for Groot, a lot of people think he could use his everything except his voice for Black Bolt. I dig it.

1. Karnak
Never on a Top 5 has the #1 been so obvious. Karnak is my favorite Inhuman, after one issue of his comic I was sold on this character. While all other Inhumans got their powers from the Terrigen Mist, Karnak didn't, he trained his body and mind for years until he voluntarily activated his powers. He worked for his gift instead of having handed to him. Karnak's power is that he "sees the flaw in all things". He can find the weakness in any structure, meaning he can break bones with a poke, chop buildings and slice a bullet in half just by detecting it's flaw. It doesn't stop there, Karnak can see the flaws in philosophy, strategy, religion, politics, diets, he sees the imperfections in any concept conceivable and it's awesome! He is a pessimistic monk who recognizes that all life is insignificant in the long-run of the universe, that there is no peace without contemplation and sacrifice. Karnak has been a philosopher, a strategist, and a teacher. A high priest of The Inhumans. Karnak is my favorite Inhuman because he made an effort others like him have not, his power is extraordinary and interesting, and his outlook on life is depressing and fascinating all at once. This character freaking rocks and I hope to see more awesome characters like him in the future.
