What if The Power Rangers had a government built organization? How would it effect the following shows? Well, check out my previous posts about Project Hexagon and check this one out for my pitch on how Project Hexagon could have worked.
Mystic Force
Hey, I know. Let's give this show about magic Power Rangers a rap theme song. Blah. Story-wise these Rangers are chosen via prophecy to protect the world from an evil wizard from a parallel world of magic. My version? Back in medieval times-when magic was as frequent as air-King Arthur had a squad of sorcerers to battle evil wizards and stuff. In modern times, the descendants of these wizards are gathered to Briarwood to take up their ancestors mantles and protect the world from the newly released from exile Morticon. What they didn't see coming was that their ancestors were Power Rangers (Zordon has been on Earth a very long time). While the main story is pretty similar to the original, one big difference come in the form of teams of Hexagon Power Rangers who want to capture these rogue magic-using Rangers, as Tommy is suspicious of these new mysterious Rangers. These Rangers are protecting the Earth from magical forces while avoiding conviction from government Rangers. By the end, they escape and join Jason's rebellion.
Operation Overdrive
I know, lets use another rap song. Blah. The original plot was about this rich inventor and his team hunting powerful stones and rare objects across the world before several groups of aliens find them. Lame. My version, a Hexagon scientist Andrew Hartford (or Andrew Hart to relate him to Kimberly Hart) creates a new team of Rangers-prototypes for military-grade Power Rangers. While Tommy Oliver believes these Rangers are the first step to soldiers becoming Rangers, but Hartford is secretly against Hexagon and is planning on using this team to slowly destroy Hexagon from the inside. A scientist, a stunt-man, a race car driver, a master thief, and an android designed by Hartford to ruin Hexagon. You still have new groups of aliens and rare magical items to find (since Hexagon just dealt with a big magic problem) and run into Tyzonn. My version of Tyzonn/The Mercury Ranger comes from the same planet as Andros/Red Space Ranger who was Zhane/Silver Space Ranger's younger brother. He supports Hexagon and the rest of the Rangers have to hide the plan and slowly spoon-feed their true intentions. By the end, more Rangers help get the final magic object and arrest a majority of the alien factions. And that thief Rangers? He uploads a virus to Hexagon's main computer.
Jungle Fury
These Rangers were part of a martial arts dojo who-to prevent an ancient magic villain from rising in power-become Power Rangers. The Red Ranger was supposed to be this student Jarrod, but due to his mean-spirit he was not allowed to be a Ranger, and a rookie named Casey is chosen. My version is similar only the dojo is basically another Ranger school, but more private with a smaller student body. Jarrod was also Tommy's biggest fan. The rest of the students have differing opinions on Hexagon, but their mentor RJ/The Purple Ranger has a very neutral stance on it. The Jungle Fury Ranger's feline-based powers are drawn from a combination of White Tiger, Sabretooth Tiger, Wild Force's White Tiger, Wild Force's Red Lion, and other previous feline-powers, but the White Rhino Ranger-in my version-was a guardian-type Ranger placed their to protect the students. When the students became Rangers, the White Rhino Ranger took some time to help in the background, catching stray monsters and following Jarrod. Again, not too many differences in this story, but one other addition would be these Rangers directly hunting Jason Lee Scott to prove themselves, only to learn more martial arts from him and be converted against Hexagon, but still fighting Jarrod because evil is still evil.
