Easter is the day where we all eat chocolate bunnies and marshmallow chicks. We visit the relatives, eat more food, and remind our children that Easter is about Christ and not about an anthropomorphic rabbit who specializes in home invasions. With such a bright, fluffy, and marketably cheerful holiday, I've decided to highlight some of comic's brightest, fluffiest, and marketably cheerful animals. This is The Panel Biter's Top 5 Comic Book Pets!
5. Lockjaw
Lockjaw is the loyal pet of The Inhumans, playing the part of transportation for his masters. Like The Inhumans, Lockjaw has powers of his own, mainly teleportation. He's also stood loyally beside other heroes like The Fantastic Four and Ms. Marvel. Lockjaw is about the size of kitchen table so his food bowl is more of a bucket. A gross, smelly bucket.
4. Lockheed
When the X-Men were kidnapped by the alien creatures known as The Brood, Kitty Pryde met an alien dragon she named Lockheed. Capable of flight, flame projection and empathy, this space dragon has allied both the X-Men and SHIELD's space division, SWORD. Also, he looks like Ridley from Metroid. That makes me happy.
3. Krypto the Superdog
Krypto has often played sidekick to both Superman/Kal-El and Superboy/Kon-El. His most recent origin explains he was sucked into The Phantom Zone before Krypton's destruction, Superman found Krypto when he was an adult and used the Earth's sun to nurture Krypto to health, it also gave the Superdog powers similar to The Man of Steel. Being the loyal dog of the most recognizable hero in history has earning this pet some notice, he even had his own cartoon.
2. Topo
Aquaman's dependable sea-friend has appeared in many forms. Topo was originally an intelligent octopus capable of operating multiple instruments. The second Topo was a humanoid squid who helped Aquaman's successor, Arthur Joseph Curry. The third and most recent Topo is a giant sea monster with elements of octopus and crab, this Topo is in fact too intelligent for Aquaman to control. In order to summon Topo-and hope the sea monster assists him-Aquaman uses a special conch that wakes Topo from the depths below.

1. Batcow
During an investigation into a slaughterhouse, Batman and Robin (Damian Wayne) stumble upon a cow who could assist their investigation. After testing the cow for criminal-inplanted diseases, Robin grows attached to the cow and names him Bat-Cow after being allowed to keep him. For a while, Alfred Pennyworth was Bat-Cow's sole caretaker, much to his displeasure. Yes, this cow is an official member of the Bat-Family along with Titus/Ace the Bat-Hound. Fear the darkness, fear the night, fear The Bat-Cow!
Hope you liked my list of hairy heroes! Thanks for reading!
