Designed For Disney

Oh. My. Rao. Did you guys see "Big Hero 6"? Did you love it? Did it make you smile ear to ear? Were you paying attention when the big Marvel logo cam up before it started!? Don't be confused readers, Big Hero 6 doesn't tie into Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is simply an entertaining adaption of one of Marvel's more obscure comics. That being said, the chance to produce fun animated movies based off Marvel properties and have them not be constricted by the MCU is a great idea, lucky for Disney I have some suggestions! This is The Panel Biter's Top 5 Most Wanted Disney/Marvel Animated Movies!

#5. Rocket Raccoon & Groot
"Guardians of Galaxy" was a fun space action/comedy that introduced people to a lot of charming characters, none more charming then a talking raccoon and his bark-headed pal. Rocket Raccoon and Groot are entertaining characters to follow, but because we already have them in the films, why not give them a fifteen or twenty minute short film to show their misadventures? You could even tie it into the MCU if you wanted, or have it be a fun extra to add to a Blu-Ray movie disc. The current Groot solo comic retells the story of how these two met, so maybe that story could be used as inspiration with a little Disney charm added. It'd definitely be an enjoyable story for children and adults alike.

#4. Howard The Duck
Forget about the crappy movie, forget about the cameo in GOTG, and only take in this image above. A talking duck in jail. There is so much you could do with Howard The Duck in a animated playground. The entertainment value that comes from Howard is his outlook on a human-dominated world. The story could show Howard's life as a detective in Duck World-with cameos from Donald and other Disney Ducks-and how he was sucked from his world into our world. No puppets or anything, just CGI or classic Disney Animation. Show how Howard goes about setting up a civilian life, or his interactions with New York characters. Show him set up a detective agency next to She-Hulk's law firm, really there's a lot of warm comedic angles you could take with a talking talk, Disney partly made their success of talking ducks!

#3. The Superior Foes of Spider-Man
These losers are The Sinister Six, they just haven't found a sixth member yet. The Superior Foes of Spider-Man were a team of lower-class villains who had little to actually do with Spider-Man and that theme could be used again for a movie. In the picture you have Shocker and Overdrive on the left, Speed Demon and Boomerang, and being held up is The Beetle. Being aware of their social status, this team get in various situations with little results simply to up their reputation. Like the book, the movie could have these run-of-the-mill criminals attempt to pull a big heist and hope to get the attention of guys like Spider-Man, only for it to blow up in their faces when various New York crime lords go after them. Everyday people in silly costumes trying to look menacing, kids love it when adults screw up! Oh and J. Jonah Jameson must obviously be included and played by J.K. Simmons!

#2. Power Pack
A family of superheroes? Check! Child superheroes? Check! A family of child superheroes with a space-travelling smart ship? Oh yeah, super check! Think of all the toys you could sell! The Power Pack are a team of preteen heroes who's last big bump in 2005 to attract younger readers and have playful cameos by other Marvel heroes. Counting left to right: Jack Power/Mass Master can transform into varying sizes and shapes and control his mass, Julie Power/Lightspeed can move at super speed and fly, Katie Power/Energizer can absorb, implant and project any type of energy, and Alex Power/Zero-G can manipulate gravity. These four originally battled an alien war race called the Zn'rx (also named The Snarks), for a movie set-up the four kids can get their powers from Friday (the smart ship) and become superheroes to save their parents who have become captured by The Snarks. Additionally, the comics sometime show the kids trading superpowers, which'd be a neat little trope to toss in there. I know my five cousins would love something like this. Yeah, I have five cousins. And like seven other cousins. And like three or four more, I honestly lost count.

#1. Squirrel Girl
She beat Dr. Doom, she beat Galactus, she beat Thanos and even served Wolverine a butt-kicking! So now is the time to give The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl her own animated movie, including all her squirrel friends! And I know they're chipmunks, but you could totally have Chip and Dale in there somewhere. Maybe invent a Chipmunk Boy to compliment her? I don't know, all I know is that this character was made to have a funny movie and display just how "what the heck" she is. Squirrel Girl has babysat the children of superheroes before, so there is your B-Plot, the main plot could be a villain like Ultron (played as a comedic parody of the cinematic version) attacking the Earth while the heroes are mysteriously missing and Squirrel Girl becoming solely responsible for protecting the Earth. Could be fun, right? Really, I can't think of any other character more deserving of being the next Disney Princess than this acorn-cracking crime fighter!

Marvel Comics has the personality needed to spin out animated Disney films, films that Disney could just rip from the comics and not have to worry about making new or original. Plus-and this might be unrelated-if Marvel is going to included in any way into the Kingdom Hearts games, I think I'd rather movies like Big Hero 6 be the extent of that connection, that way Marvel doesn't overpopulate everything else Disney owns. Again, unrelated. Do you have any Marvel characters you'd like to see in a Disney movie? Think outside the Cosmic Cube! Thanks for reading!
